it is my first monocle.i have the medium size with galleries and cord.the quality is amazing but i have trouble with potisioning.while it seems to get a grip at first, moments later it slips off. the cord doesn't help putting the extra weight. i dont know if i need the larger size but as you see from the picture i guess it seems right. i keep the eye clean from natural oils.as it is now i can't keep it on the eye.
i dont have experience with monocles but it seems to me tha the cord is a bit heavy and pulls the monocle down from the eye causing it to drop.
Perfect for driving .. with CRVO in one eye glasses just mess it up even more. Not anymore, this monocle was the answer!

I have a tremor in right eye, but wearing an eye patch at home helps with it. I purchased the monocle for reading. It is very well made, although a challenge to keep in the eye. I am very pleased with it. Richard

According to my family the black monocle looks raffish whereas the gold frame looks distinguished. I believe either looks equally splendid with casual or with formal attire.

I wear a left eye patch in public and my "click it" readers don't fit as well. Since I only have a right eye (I am not a pirate) I thought I would try a monocle. It is not that easy to find in the states. The Monocle Madness website was very helpful and the 2X Reader monocle I ordered has proved the perfect solution. It also provides a bit of panache in a terminal situation.
Great quality of the lens and frame and chain. It will get a minute to get used to. Perhaps I should have gotten the bigger size?

Been meaning to get a Monocle for a while now. Fed up with being unable to read microscopic menus in dark restaurants.
While I love the monocle and I get a lot of compliments my only negative experience is USA tariff inflicted. I did not expect to have to pay twice for the product. I’ll definitely buy again but only after my govt stops punishing us. If you’re outside the USA it’s perfect! Definitely worth it.

Since my right eye sees worse than the left this is highly useful AND a fashion accessory at the same time. Wear it 100% if the time.

I have had my gold, prescription monocle with gold chain from Monocle Madness for around 6 months now and can honestly say this is an absolute thing of splendour! I have read books and perused the wine lists whilst fine dining with the Mrs in perfect clarity, but the highlight so far has to be the recent attendance at the Lincoln Steampunk Festival! The monocle is perfect for doing art work. I can do close work with one eye whilst having good distance with the other. I don't need to keep taking my glasses on and off every few moments.
This is my third monocle from MM. love them and I get a lot of compliments. It’s convenient for a night on the town when you don’t want to drag along readers.
My right eye is of limited use now, so I realised that a monocle was more convenient than spectacles. I can remove it from my top pocket very easily and insert it quicker than fumbling with specs. The quality of the prescription varifocal lens is superb. A very practical object, although ("I say chaps!") my friends do giggle at its pervasive and probably undeserved identification with the aristocracy.
Perfect…., turned up on time. Using it everyday for reading and close up work. Lives around my neck, always ready for use. No need to fumble around looking for my reading glasses!
It takes a little getting used to but works well and is so handy to have on a string around your neck whenever it is needed. I ordered it because Doctor said that I would not be able to wear glasses for a while due to skin problem, but I think that it might well stay with me after that is hopefully cleared up. The service from "Monocle Madness" was excellent and could not be faulted.

Wrongly ordered the large size at first and had trouble getting it to stay in, but it was changed to the 35mm it was much easier. A skin trouble means I may not be able to wear glasses for a while so the monocle will hopefully solve the problem to allow me to read and measure things. It is very convenient just to have it around your kneck ready for use when needed.

I’ve always liked the old style monocle and now feel the right age to wear it. The hardest part is finding the right position for it on my face without screwing my face up to hold it and practice.
